What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Any information which, when tied to the above listed specific information, can identify a specific individual.
We collect information at various locations throughout the site. We give notice at each location that asks for personal identifying information, and such information will be used only for the purposes stated at the location of the collection, and/or within this Privacy Statement. When we collect personal identifying information, you will always have the choice of whether or not to provide it. However, you may not be able to receive certain of Socially-ish’s services without providing the information requested.
We use this information for administrative and other purposes that we believe are necessary to maintain, improve and enhance our services. Such uses include data transmission, surveys of our Members, sending e-mail messages to all of our Members.
Socially-ish fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies in identifying those persons who use our services for illegal activities, and we reserve the right to release personal identifying information about Members when we believe our services are being used unlawfully even without a subpoena, warrant or court order.
We do not control the actions of our Members or Visitors. If you disclose personal information to others, it may be collected and used by others. Socially-ish does not assume any responsibility for actions of those other parties.
SECURE INDEPENDENCE DOES NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN
We believe that it is especially important to protect children’s privacy online.
Note: Socially-ish defines children as minors under the age of 13 years.
We do not knowingly collect any personal identifying information from children.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
MEMBERS ABILITY TO CHANGE/REMOVE INFORMATION
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If, at any time you would like to find out the information Socially-ish maintains about you, or change or delete any information within Socially-ish’s active database simply contact us.
If you leave Socially-ish, we may delete your information from our active database. Residual information will remain within our archived database and records.
All Members and Visitors should be aware that, when they disclose personal identifying information to others, the information may be collected and used by others to send that person unsolicited e-mail from other parties, outside Socially-ish. If you encounter any Socially-ish Member who is improperly collecting or using information about users, please contact us.

Please be aware that Socially-ish does not control the acts of its Members or Visitors. All Members and Visitors should be aware that, when they disclose personal information, on their Web site or elsewhere on the site, the information might be collected and used by others. Additionally, Members should be aware that when they link, or click on ad banners, they might go to other sites not operated by Socially-ish. These outside parties may have different privacy policies from those of Socially-ish. If you are asked to divulge personal identifying information at any point outside Socially-ish, please be aware that privacy policies other than Socially-ish may apply to the collection and use of that information.
